Our professional courses give you sought-after externally accredited mindfulness-based teaching skills to add to your annual CPD record and professional skills. The teacher training primarily focuses on the teaching process and core mindfulness-based practices of the 8-week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and the University of Massachusetts Medical School. The course is also ideal for those who wish to integrate mindfulness into their profession or teach mindfulness in a different way.
With a maximum of 12 students to allow optimal personal support and development, the MBSR Teacher Training Level 1 course includes plenty of opportunities to engage in personal and group learning processes designed to support and deepen understanding and skills in teaching and integrating mindfulness-based approaches in professional practice.
During this experiential course, you will receive comprehensive training in teaching all aspects of Mindfulness including the latest research. The course curriculum is exactly the same for both the in-person teacher training retreat course and interactive live online courses, ensuring that you receive the highest possible training experience.
Our time together will be spent in silence as we practice, and in small and large group reflection and investigation as we learn through the co-created shared experience. In this space, you will continue to deepen your own practice and embodiment of mindfulness and learn foundational teaching skills.
With the online courses, the days are a mixture of practice, workshops, and practice teaching, with plenty of breaks away from the screen to move and practice self-care. In order to graduate you need to attend all sessions. If due to an unexpected emergency you are unable to attend a day, you would be able to join the next modular course.
You will experience and learn specifically how to teach the core practices of the 8-week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction MBSR course including mindful movement and developing the skill of Inquiry.
As you explore this series of videos and accompanying documents, you will find that there are recommendations on how to prepare for each core practice, this includes using the provided mp3 recordings to deepen your own felt sense of the practices, and using the provided transcripts to develop the language of trauma-sensitive practice.
This personal and professional self-study is to help you prepare for the Level One course as best you can, with the time that you have available so that you make the most of the time you spend with us.
I look forward to supporting you on this journey!
Kind regards
Kathy
